atlanta newborn photographer

I offer both fresh 48 and in-home newborn sessions. Read on to find out the differences & if one of these sounds like a better option for you.

Still having trouble deciding? Let's chat and I'll help you narrow in on which of these options you'd like to schedule.

Fresh 48:

The name “Fresh 48” refers to a photo session completed within your newborn’s first 48 hours of life. This is as close as you can get to birth photography without having photos of baby’s birth itself.

For me, the hospital stay after our babies came was a mix of raw emotions: relief, awe, overwhelm, wonder, gratitude, and excitement to finally meet the precious little person who had been growing within me. I just wanted to drink in all the rapture and details, wanting to remember it all. That’s why Fresh 48 photos are my favorite photos to take, and are my most treasured family photos in our home: there is nothing quite like the emotion of those first few hours.

I hope to capture some of those quiet, cherished moments of you and your little one. My approach to Fresh 48 sessions is to be a bit of a fly on the wall. I’ll give you enough direction to feel comfortable, but my main goal is to capture the pure emotions that come naturally to parents or siblings welcoming their new baby.

The ways you will naturally hold and interact with your baby–and the emotion you already exude–will be perfect for photos.

In-Home:

Your in-home, newborn shoot is all about welcoming your perfect, brand-new babe into the world– and all the emotion that goes with it. I love capturing a baby’s arrival with his or her family in their home.

These lifestyle sessions largely aim to photograph your everyday moments in your space with your new little one. Unlike some newborn photography in studios with special lighting and poses, the use of props, flash, and posing will be minimal. But don’t worry–I’ll give you just enough direction so you feel comfortable.
